We’re seeking an ambitious & growth-oriented Sr. Visual Designer who will work as a member of client project teams to deliver best in class visual content & experience for our clients.
The Visual Designer works in collaboration with the content and experience teams at Tendo to create visual content design and interactive content on behalf of Tendo clients. All work is expected to follow client brand standards, epitomize highest quality engaging design and meet the needs of the intended audience. This individual must successfully develop and/or translate strategic content concepts into visual and interactive formats.
This designer should be adept at client communication, design leadership and consulting “in the room” based on their experience and knowledge of design best practices. They’ll also be a catalyst who defines and adapts emergent Design best practices into Tendo’s POV, client recommendations and deliverables. The candidate will also support Tendo’s own brand and marketing efforts, collaborating across teams at Tendo to support our website, social campaigns, podcast, videos and more.
The role reports to the VP Experience who leads the UX and design team, with matrixed accountability to the content lead on assigned client projects
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Visual design
Contribute to all aspects of visual design on assigned client and internal Tendo projects. This includes understanding and articulating client brand requirements, , and developing design artifacts that meet them. Storyboard and translate ideas (and B2B technology concepts) to creative design.
Create design solutions that meet or exceed client strategic objectives. Deliverables would include:
Layout, design and illustration for content assets and collateral (ebooks, presentations, social media packs, brochures, infographics, etc.)
Interactive content (selectors, assessments, interactive visual elements., etc.)
sets for use in video content and potentially video editing
Web visual design from UX wireframes and creating (or using existing) for website design systems (including UI elements, typography, color palettes, interactive states, etc.)
Maintain and evolve the highest standard of quality for all Tendo client deliverables, accountable for quality of work for all assigned clients.
Create and contribute to presentation of client deliverables and recommendations.
Project participation
Deliver assigned projects on schedule and on budget.
Communicate progress as appropriate in a clear and proactive manner.
Proactively communicate with the Tendo team and clients; anticipate challenges and suggest solutions. Communicate clearly in all client interaction, including e-mail, phone, and face-to-face meetings; document/confirm client communication in writing according to Tendo standards.
Thought Leadership
Stay up to date on the latest trends in design, UX and interaction.
Share knowledge and learnings via presentation to colleagues.
Monitor new and emergent tools for interactive content and design and apply these tools on the Tendo website and/or client engagements where appropriate.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 yrs of experience delivering visual design solutions for various clients is required, preferably in a design or similar agency. The candidate should thrive in a collaborative environment with UX and content teams, but also able to work individually. They should be comfortable collaborating with others, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy a diversity of projects.
In addition, he/she/they will have:
A degree in Graphic Design or other relevant experience / qualifications in design.
A portfolio showcasing innovative visual designs.
Experience creating and using brand guidelines and documentation.
Experience working in design systems
Strong communication and presentation skills that allow you to effectively share your ideas with peers and clients, as well as communicate design decisions and persuasively influence your audience.
Strong knowledge of visual design best practices.
Keen attention to detail.
The ability to balance creative requirements with client business requirements.
Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
A sense of ownership and responsibility for your work
Experience working at an agency or freelance -- and working on multiple projects at once.
Experience working with enterprise B2B clients, specifically in the technology sector.
Competencies required:
Required: Advanced proficiency with Figma. (Tendo’s primary tool)
Required: Advanced proficiency skills with creative suite (Adobe, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Required: Proficient in with PowerPoint and Word (template creation)
Basic competence: Low code interactive tools (Vev, Webflow, etc)
Basic Competence: Aftereffects and video editing tools
Basic knowledge and familiarity: Base CSS/HTML
Preferred: Familiarity with enterprise software used to publish content / campaigns, such as AEM, Sitecore, WordPress, Salesforce, HubSpot etc.

Preference: Hybrid in the San Francisco Bay Area (At least one day per week in office)
