Overview

Are you passionate about social media, reputation management, and leading with strategy? The Moran Group is looking for a Lead Social Media Strategist to help us take our client work and existing internal team to the next level.

This is not an entry-level role. Our full-service agency is looking for an experienced social media pro with a strategic mindset and proven leadership skills. The ideal candidate thrives on collaboration, innovation, and using data to drive results and push our clients deliverables forward.

As the Lead Social Media Strategist, you'll spearhead social and reputation strategies for our clients while also managing and mentoring a team of two Social Media Strategists. This role requires a balance of high-level strategy, creative ideation, client communication, and team leadership.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of social media strategies across multiple clients and industries, with an emphasis on automotive.
  • Provide department direction and guidance in collaboration with the Digital Content Director
  • Manage and mentor a small team of Social Media Strategists, ensuring growth, performance, and quality of work
  • Stay ahead of social media trends, tools, and platform updates
  • Conduct audience and platform research to build data-driven content strategies and takeaways
  • Oversee client reputation management, including reviews and social listening
  • Collaborate with internal teams and present social strategy to clients and internal teams in clear, compelling ways
  • Occasionally attend in-person client meetings as needed
  • Create and grow The Moran Group Automotive social channels
  • Work with Creative Director and team on ongoing content strategies

Skills We're Looking For

  • Passionate for social media and its evolving role and importance in digital marketing
  • 3+ years of professional experience in social media management and strategy
  • Proven leadership or team management experience (agency experience a plus)
  • Deep understanding of all major social platforms, tools, and analytics
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in identifying audiences, crafting targeted content, and measuring performance
  • Research-driven mindset with ability to translate insights into actionable strategy
  • Design-savvy with a good eye for social content to work in-tandem with our art department (bonus if you can guide basic visual direction)
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and calm under deadlines
