Job Description

About Voltus

Voltus is a mission-driven energy technology company enabling distributed energy resources (DERs) to participate in electricity markets. Our Hardware Production team plays a critical role in deploying devices that capture real-time energy data from customer sites across the U.S. and Canada.

Role Overview

We’re seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Hardware Production Technician to join our warehouse-based manufacturing team. This role involves assembling, wiring, testing, and shipping custom data acquisition kits (Voltlets) that support Voltus' demand response mission. The ideal candidate takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship, follows procedures precisely, and enjoys working on a small team where accountability and collaboration are essential.

Employment for this role will begin with a 90-day probationary period. During this time, performance and suitability for the position will be evaluated.

Work Environment

This is a non-remote, warehouse-based role. The schedule consists of standard 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. The role involves a steady, process-driven workflow where each build plays a critical role in Voltus’ field performance. We value team players who are precise, coachable, and take pride in producing reliable, high-quality work.

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble and wire custom low-voltage hardware kits (Voltlets)
  • Program and bench-test devices for accurate KYZ pulse data capture
  • Package and prepare shipments for deployment to field sites
  • Track inventory, update records, and log assignments in internal systems
  • Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting of hardware
  • Maintain and occasionally improve internal documentation and SOPs

Key Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of hands-on assembly or manufacturing experience
  • Experience working with low-voltage electrical systems (wiring, connections, component handling)
  • Proven experience reading wiring diagrams and using hand tools (screwdrivers, drills, wire-strippers)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, tracking, and communication tasks
  • Experience handling inventory in a manufacturing setting, including picking parts, restocking, and working from picklists tied to build orders
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Dependable, accountable, and proactive communicator
  • Must have reliable transportation to Georgetown, TX

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with internal platforms and tools used to configure hardware builds and map device-level data to real-time telemetry dashboards
  • Exposure to Salesforce
  • Ability to write and maintain SOPs and procedural documentation

Physical & Workflow Expectations

  • Combination of sitting and standing throughout the workday
  • Use of a pallet jack for handling equipment and shipments
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely
  • Strong attention to detail in both physical assembly and digital recordkeeping
  • Ability to self-direct and plan your own workflow, including task prioritization and daily scheduling of work tasks within a standard shift schedule

Education

  • High School Diploma required
  • Technical training or certification in electrical or electronics preferred
