Job Summary:
The Department of Psychology seeks Meditation Instructors to fill open positions in the following ONLINE course for the spring 2025 semester.
PSYB314E: Buddhist Psychology: Mindfulness Meditation – 1 Position Total
Course Description: An introduction to the psychological principles and sitting practice of mindfulness-awareness meditation. The meditation is drawn from the Tibetan and Zen Buddhist traditions, as well as teachings of sacred warriorship. By exploring the many ways ego fixation creates suffering and confusion in our lives, students are trained to develop inner tranquility, insight, and loving-kindness. This develops an essential ground for working effectively with personal life challenges and those of others.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
· Support the faculty of record, as needed.
· Monitor and assist in the instruction of meditation practices.
· Support students in one-on-one meetings or small group discussion
· Complete any and all faculty and staff trainings as required by the Human Resources Office, the Office of Academic Affairs, or the Office of Information Technology/Distance Learning within the time period set for completion by those departments.
· Create and maintain a positive, collaborative, and professional environment.
